The new characters won’t spare it.

This show is about a boy, Kokonose Chuta, who gets chosen as a component of an alien police force. Chuta has always heard a voice in his head that no-one could else could hear. I was a bit distrusful towards this show, since it seemed filled with sci-fi elements which I don’t particularly like. In the end, the show is much more focused on the comedy, with some ecchi scenes here and there.

The quality of the show itself is pretty good. I liked the art design and the animations. During the first episodes, I really liked the story too, but then it suddenly dropped and started to bore me. The plot isn’t evolving, the characters are quite plain and I didn’t see anything new during the last episodes. Which is quite a problem since two new characters were introduced just an episode ago.

Do I recommend it? Well… I won’t know if it will get better in the next episodes, but the first ones are worth a try.

Anime Elimination Tournament – Winter 2017 – Week 6

Hi everyone!

This week, I’m posting ahead of schedule! I caught up with the episodes and I hope to continue like this in the future!

We are half-way through the tournament. Things are getting difficult, now all of the episodes are quite enjoyable and it’s hard to choose which one to eliminate.

Without further ado, this week’s ranking!

  1. Kuzu no Honkai
  2. Little Witch Academia
  3. Masamune-kun no Revenge
  4. Gabriel DropOut
  5. Fuuka
  6. ēlDLIVE
  7. Onihei
  8. Marginal#4: Kiss Kara Tsukuru Big Bang

Although I find it quite funny, I have to say goodbye to Marginal #4. I’d rather focus on the other series, so I’m going to let it go.

I’m cutting the comment section because I don’t like to talk in detail about what happens in the episode, because I feel like I can spoiler something to a possible viewer or something like this. For this reason, I think the comments are going to be very similar in each post of mine. Instead, I’ll try to do a little wrap-up concerning the eliminated anime.

A date with a statue? Only in Marginal#4!

Marginal#4 is a show about a male idol group who is rather successful. When I started this anime, I was expecting cool bishounen and events regarding their life as idols. Actually, it’s a slice of life anime focused on comedy. The events depicted are usually set at school and we follow the four main characters during their daily life. Since it has an episodic format, there have been good episodes and bad ones. At this point, I feel attached to the characters and this is the main reason I find it hard to let it go. The music is cute; I like the art even though is simple and the animation isn’t of the best quality, but it is watchable.

Do I recommend it? Only if you are a fan of the genre.

Anime Elimination Tournament – Winter 2017 – Week 5

Hey everyone!

We’re already at the 5th week and that means we will be half-way through the tournament next week! Starting from this week, we begin to say goodbye to nice shows. It’s a shame, but eventually we will get rid even of the best ones until we have only two of them remaining.

This week’s ranking:

  1. Kuzu no Honkai
  2. Gabriel DropOut
  3. Little Witch Academia
  4. Masamune-kun no Revenge
  5. Fuuka
  6. ēlDLIVE
  7. Marginal#4: Kiss Kara Tsukuru Big Bang
  8. Onihei
  9. Kemono Friends

Unfortunately, Kemono Friends is out; our journey with Kaban-chan ends here! I was pleasantly surprised by this show: in my introductory post I wasn’t hyped at all, but in the end it was cute, relaxing and at rather entertaining.

Masamune-kun is starting to decline. I didn’t like the new character, so this episode was a bit meh since it was focused on her. Fuuka is getting worse too, but it still manages to keep its rank. The character I was hyped for, Koyuki, is pretty bland and I hate it. I hope they give her some solid psychological traits in the future. Also, speaking of the new character introduced in the 5th episode, I’m still mixed about her. In other news, I don’t really get what happened in Onihei. I was like “has this anime turned in a comedy show?” for most of the episode. It just… wasn’t what I was expecting.

On the other hand, Gabriel DropOut released a solid and enjoyable episode; a new character is introduced, similarly to most of the shows, but in this case she’s actually entertaining and well-rounded, so I like her! Speaking of enjoyable episodes, I quite liked Marginal #4‘s 5th episode! It was really nice and funny, even though that isn’t enough to rank among the best shows!

Happily, I’m slowly catching up with my watching schedule! See you next week~

Anime Elimination Tournament – Winter 2017 – Week 4

Another quick post this week, since I’m trying to catch up with the schedule!

This time the decision is pretty difficult. Every anime in the tournament had a good episode, so it was hard to make up my mind.

This week’s ranking:

  1. Kuzu no Honkai
  2. Masamune-kun no Revenge
  3. Little Witch Academia
  4. Gabriel DropOut
  5. Fuuka
  6. Onihei
  7. ēlDLIVE
  8. Kemono Friends
  9. Marginal#4: Kiss Kara Tsukuru Big Bang
  10. Minami Kamakura Koukou Joshi Jitensha-bu

Finally, we have to part ways with Minami Kamakura Jitensha-bu. It’s a pity, because everything was just starting to develop, but Marginal#4 has had a stronger impact on me during the weeks so I think I have to give it another chance. After all, this week’s episodes weren’t so bad!

Kuzu no Honkai strikes again with a marvelous episode: the story is more and more interesting as the intrigue emerges. Masamune-kun no Revenge is still going strong, I love the comedy and it really entertain me.

I want to spend two words for Kemono Friends; I think I’m actually getting invested in the story and I’m curious on where this is going. There are a few hints here and there that intrigue me and make me want to discover what’s behind them. On the other hand, Fuuka is starting to lose momentum: I really liked the previous episode and I expected further developments, but my hopes were crushed with a slow – at times boring – episode.

So, only nine anime are still competing! Rank the episodes will get harder and harder as only the best ones will stand the test of time! _apple__by_ebonred-d51uswt

Anime Elimination Tournament – Winter 2017 – Week 3

Only a quick post for this week – I’m really busy with my exams and I’m studying really hard; I had to watch almost everything sped up to keep up with the tournament.

So, without further ado, this week’s ranking:

  1. Kuzu no Honkai
  2. Masamune-kun no Revenge
  3. Little Witch Academia
  4. Fuuka
  5. Gabriel DropOut
  6. Onihei
  7. Marginal#4: Kiss Kara Tsukuru Big Bang
  8. Kemono Friends
  9. Minami Kamakura Koukou Joshi Jitensha-bu
  10. ēlDLIVE
  11. Seiren

Kuzu no Honkai achieves the first spot this week with an awesome episode focused on widening the characters psychology and background. It’s getting more and more interesting and I’m looking forward to the next episodes. Little Witch Academia gifted us with a cute and funny episode which I really enjoyed! Gabriel DropOut isn’t in the top three for the first time: is it losing its comedic power? We’ll see with the next episode!

ēlDLIVE experienced a major drop, with an episode I found boring and annoying. The characters are starting to get on my nerves, so I hope the next episode will focus again on the comedy side. Marginal#4 retrieves a few spots with an episode I found particularly funny: I hope this will be the direction from now onwards. Also, Minami Kamakura Jitensha-bu is finally taking off and I hope to appreciate the next episode as well.

Finishing last is Seiren. Basically, I’m fed up. The girl is annoying, the boy is boring, the romance is yet to be found. Yeah, there were some good scenes here and there, but I can’t take it anymore.
